Privacy Policy for Substack Note Scheduler
Last Updated: December 21, 2025
Summary: This extension automates publishing notes from QuickViralNotes to Substack. You create and schedule notes on QuickViralNotes.xyz - the extension just handles the publishing step. Your notes are stored on QuickViralNotes servers (not in the extension). The extension only stores your Substack domain locally. We don't use tracking, analytics, or share data with third parties.
Introduction
Substack Note Scheduler ("the Extension") is a browser extension that automatically publishes scheduled notes to Substack. All note creation and scheduling happens on QuickViralNotes.xyz - this extension simply handles the automated publishing step. This privacy policy explains how the Extension handles your data.
Data Collection
This Extension is a publishing automation tool for the QuickViralNotes platform. The extension itself does not collect or store your note content or scheduling information - that all lives on QuickViralNotes.xyz. The extension's only job is to fetch scheduled notes from QuickViralNotes and publish them to Substack.
What Data Is Stored on QuickViralNotes (Not the Extension)
- Note Content: Created and stored on quickviralnotes.xyz
- Scheduling Information: Set on quickviralnotes.xyz
- Publishing Status: Tracked in QuickViralNotes database
- Account Association: Linked to your QuickViralNotes account
What the Extension Stores Locally
- Substack Domain: Your Substack publication URL (e.g., yourname.substack.com)
- Substack User Info: Your Substack user ID and email (read from Substack cookies for publishing)
- Temporary Alarms: Chrome scheduling alarms for upcoming publishes (auto-cleared after posting)
- Temporary Note Data: Copy of note content while publishing is in progress (cleared immediately after)
Important: The extension does not create, edit, or store notes. It only reads scheduled notes from QuickViralNotes and publishes them to Substack.
What We Don't Do
- No distribution: Your content is not distributed, sold, or shared with third parties
- No tracking: We don't collect browsing history, analytics, or tracking data
- No data sharing: Your notes go only where you intend them to go (Substack)
- No third-party access: No advertising networks, data brokers, or other services have access to your content
Data Storage
QuickViralNotes Cloud Storage
The Extension works as part of the QuickViralNotes platform. Your note content and scheduling information are stored in the QuickViralNotes database:
- Note Content: All your notes are created and stored on QuickViralNotes servers
- Scheduling Information: Planned publish dates and times are stored in the QuickViralNotes database
- Publishing Status: Whether each note has been published and when
- Account Data: Associated with your QuickViralNotes user account
Local Browser Storage
The Extension stores minimal data locally in your browser:
- Substack Domain: Your Substack publication domain (e.g., yourname.substack.com)
- Substack User Info: Your Substack user ID and email (extracted from Substack cookies for authentication)
- Temporary Scheduling Data: Chrome alarms and note content while publishing is active (automatically cleared after publishing)
Authentication & Security
The extension uses session-based authentication to ensure only you can access your notes:
- One-Time Setup: Click "Connect to QuickViralNotes" in the extension - your Substack domain is auto-filled from your account
- Session Duration: 365 days with automatic refresh on each use (effectively "always logged in" for active users)
- Security: The extension can ONLY access notes from YOUR authenticated QuickViralNotes account
- No API Keys: Uses secure browser session cookies - no tokens or keys to manage
How the Publishing Flow Works
- You log in: Sign in to quickviralnotes.xyz (creates secure session)
- You create notes: Create notes and set publish dates/times in your QuickViralNotes account
- Extension authenticates: Uses your session to securely fetch ONLY your scheduled notes
- Automated publishing: When scheduled time arrives, extension publishes to Substack
- Status update: Extension marks note as published in your QuickViralNotes account
The extension's role: Securely fetches YOUR notes and publishes them to Substack. All content remains on QuickViralNotes servers.
Your content's path: QuickViralNotes database (authenticated) → Extension reads it → Published to Substack. Your content is never distributed to third parties.
