✅ Pro tip: Schedule notes for times when your audience is most active. For many Substack creators, this is weekday mornings (8-10 AM) in their readers' timezone.
Bulk Importing Notes via CSV
If you have many notes to upload and schedule at once, CSV import is the fastest way. You can import up to 500 notes in a single upload.
CSV Format
Your CSV file needs these columns: category, content, article_title, planned_date
How to Upload
- Go to My Notes and click the "Import Notes" button in the top right.
- Drag and drop your CSV file or click to browse.
- Review the preview — you'll see any errors or warnings before importing.
- Confirm the import. Notes will appear in your Planned Notes tab.
How Auto-Posting Works
Once you have scheduled notes and the Chrome extension installed, here's what happens:
Extension posts at the exact scheduled time
When a note's scheduled time arrives, the extension automatically wakes up to post it.
Note is posted to Substack
When a note's scheduled time arrives, the extension posts it to your Substack Notes using your logged-in session.
Note marked as "Used"
After successful posting, the note is marked as used and includes a link to the live post on Substack.
⚠️ Requirements for auto-posting:
- Chrome must be running (can be in background)
- You must be logged into Substack in Chrome
- The extension must be installed and connected
